Belief and faith are not the same. Belief is an ingredient of faith. Jesus doesn’t do deals – because he’s a Covenant God. To help us get to grips with this, Dave compares contract with covenant, and takes the example of the marriage covenant to help us understand why and how it can help us with faith.
Anyone who is serious about their “followship” of Jesus has mountains to conquer. But there is a mountain-moving faith within us. Dave takes a look at Elijah’s mountain-experience with the wind, earthquake and fire – when breakthrough didn’t happen. It took a whisper – a “still small voice” – to reveal the presence of God where the power was.
Jesus didn’t ask if He’d still be famous when He returns – but will He find faith on the earth. Will Jesus find faith if he turns up at your house, mid-week? Dave looks at the issue of having “now-faith”, and the fact that God has given us all a measure of faith. A practical, encouraging talk for you, whatever your faith-level or your present-reality is right now.
